Lama dances of the grade practice of the Sabdun Phurba are performed. When the ministers of the king Uddayan try to burn Guru Rinpoche and his consort alive he transform the flames of the pyre in to a lake. The form he assumed when he emerged in the centre of a lotus with mandrava is known as Guru Pema Dorje Tsal-the Guru with lotus and Vajra. Thousands of men, women and children participate in this annual elaborate re-enactment of the Tiji myth. It will be our unique privilege to witness the same color, costume, dancing and ritual that were displayed by these people in this place more than six hundred years ago according to the religious mythology.
Most Monasteries in Upper Mustang belong to the Ngor Subsect of Sakya Buddhism. These living monasteries some of which are attached to caves, harbor great treasures of Religious art. Unfortunately occasional thefts have occurred in places, and there is a general lack of finance to undertake necessary renovations.

Traditionally, monasteries are maintained by the people of associated villages, whose unmarried sons and daughters are in return accepted into the religious community. But presently there is only one monastic School in Upper Mustang. The great Compassion Sakyapa Monastic School, Lo-Manthang , was newly founded in 1994. Here supported by the American Himalayan Foundation through Annapurna conservation Area Project about 64 youngs monkes study Buddhist teachings and rites, as well as nontraditional subjects like Science and English.
It started as 300 years ago. Her name is derived from the Arabic word for the tabla drum. It is said that a mixture of existing dholak drums, and naqqara pakhawa history, but the exact function is still unclear. This tool is often used in India, Bangladesh and Pakistan.

A modern version of the tool consists of two drums. Dayan, who immediately does in India, is a small, wooden drum played with the right hand while Bayan, which is translated as the left is larger drum with a metal body and played with his left hand.

One of the main differences between the two roles of its size, but their parts is usually the same. The cylinder, called Puri consisting of goat skin. It also hides the circle is placed over the head and to the bottom of the drum. These rings keep the laces, tapes, or on the drums, which pitch and roll controls the tension on a number of wooden cylindrical blocks ghatta mentioned. They are located between the body and the lace. There is a black circle in the middle of the drum heads are called syahi rubber, carbon black and iron fillings. Syahi is located in the center of the head, but in the Bayan, it is a bit on the side.

Define the bell-like tone, the timbre that syahi. Dayan is tuned to the tonic note of a singer or instrument guides. It has a greater distance between them. The bottom of the device is made larger Bayan. It is interesting to note that the melody of the bass is not limited to a single tone, but can include a range based on position and press the left wrist syahi. One can also make notes on the bass to move because of the ease in controlling the melody.

Learn how to play the tabla can be tricky, because some of the principles are slightly different from Western music. Beats are conceptualized using mnemonic syllables known as Bol. To play well, one must understand is conceived as a basic Indian rhythms.

Tabla drums can be both melodic and rhythmic concepts in the Indian system. However, as in most percussion instruments, the rhythm, which usually focuses on. Just as the western style beat, and measures cycle, so the Indian style. The only major difference is that it focuses more on the cycle, unlike the former focused on the measure and beat. Measurement of the time while playing the tabla is based on the clapping and waving. They clap and sway in fact a description of the actions of Indian music. This is important in the conceptualization and implementation of the whole song and other instruments to rhythm as a guide to follow. So a player can play in different syllables, if the cycle is constant.

The sound and feel of the tabla is a rich and exotic. As an instrument, can in itself when played just right, but I do very well in combination with other instruments and vocals. This may not be easy to learn, but with time and dedication, and good knowledge of Indian musical terms, is obliged to make beautiful music with this instrument.

You can Learn Tabla by Online Tabla Lesson and email me for any query of Tabla and Buy Tabla Online: happy_bp@yahoo.com

Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5486634823860706303.post-66140737272057952372011-04-06T22:08:00.000+05:302011-04-06T22:08:22.459+05:30Relish the Magic of Hindi Songs with classical music

Hindi songs here are a better harmonization of lively music, melodious voice and beautiful lyrics. Hard to believe it was only 50 years ago, but November 30, 1959 was the first performance of electronic music in Canada. My setup includes two pairs of tabla, 3 tom-toms, 5 temple blocks, a log drum, 3 crotales (though nowadays, I use Sabian Resonating Bells instead), and bamboo chimes. Hard to believe that I used to perform this piece standing up (what was I thinking?). I much prefer this new seated configuration, as it allows me to play the tabla better, and the setup is much less cluttered.
The full concert program can be Learn here in This blog. It contains some interesting VIdeos, and a scan of the 1959 concert program. alcides opened the evening with a talk and slideshow about the Tabla and the evolution of synthesizers and samplers.

The first four pieces on the program were purely electronic, pre-recorded pieces, composed by past directors of McGill's EMS - Istvan Anhalt, Hugh LeCaine, Paul Pedersen, and Bengt Hambraeus. I was invited to perform the final piece on the program - alcides lanza's ontem, with Meg Sheppard (voice), and alcides lanza himself, manipulating live electronics.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5486634823860706303.post-10364355319426807502009-11-16T16:01:00.006+05:302011-05-02T23:22:04.210+05:30Learnig Tabla From Video

Actually, Tabla forms a major instrument of Indian music. The instrument used to be the part of Classical and Hindustani music, but today it is adding to the flavor of every kind of music, especially jazz. Beats of the Tabla drums can be heard notably in the music of India.

The Tabla comprises two drums and that could be the possible reason it is also known as Indian Drums. The drum that is kept on the right hand is called "dayan". This drum is small then the left-hand drum. "Dayan" is generally made from solid piece of hardwood. The left-hand drum is known as "bayan", which can be made from metal, terracotta or ceramic.

The pitch of the Table depends on the diameter of the drums, bigger the diameter, lower would be the pitch. The method of playing Tabla drum requires maximum exercise of the fingers and movements of palm. The synchronization of both drums produces various sound effects. The right hand drum "dayan" can itself make 12 different types of sounds.

On the other hand, "bayan" can make 2 different sounds, but on applying a little pressure to "bayan", the pitch gets changed. The skin of the drum shells is fabricated from goat. The drum shell also bears a thick black disc, which is known as 'shiai'. The 'Shiai' is prepared out of flour, ferric oxide powder and starch. It is fixed in the centre of the shell to allow the emanation of sounds. The tuning of Tabla is done by striking the 'guli' or 'ghittak' (wedge). For fine tuning, the braided part of the 'pagri' (head) is thumped by a metal hammer. To ensure constancy while playing, 'bida' or 'chutta' (cushion) is placed below both the drums. Ustad Zakir Hussain(who playing tabla in picture) has popularized his art of playing Tabla all over the world.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
